The Break Out Of Your Routine Program
Why Breaking Up Your Routine Matters
I am not a routine person. I thrive off of structure and guidelines but I hate the monotony of doing the exact same thing every day. However, to some extent, I do need it in order to live a functional and productive life. We all do. In order to not drive myself insane, I consistently and constantly interrupt the monotony of my routine, to make each day feel like something new and not just a the same day over again. I picked a career that reflected this and almost every hobby that I have is not continuous. The result, I feel more present.
So that’s why we’ve designed this program. A way to log a few extra hours of something different by embarking on one hour adventures. Simply put, an hour of your life where you disrupt your routine and do something different.
The traditional research:
More diverse daily experiences = higher happiness. A Nature Neuroscience study using GPS + mood tracking finds that people feel happier on days when they mix up locations and activities. This shift also correlates with stronger connectivity in reward and memory pathways

Switching environments restores attention and creativity. Simply stepping outside, changing rooms, or looking at nature images resets directed attention, increases focused thinking, and reduces cognitive fatigue.

Novel experiences trigger dopamine and strengthen memory. New environments and unfamiliar situations activate the brain’s reward system (VTA/SN) and hippocampus, which enhances learning, motivation, and emotional engagement.

Micro-breaks boost energy, restore focus, and reduce mental fatigue. Even breaks as short as 3–10 minutes measurably improve vigor and reduce fatigue, helping you come back sharper

So…what does this mean?
Breaking routine isn’t about abandoning structure—it’s about resetting your brain so it can think, feel, and imagine more clearly. Tiny switches in environment, social energy, or pace spark the same systems that make life feel exciting, meaningful, and alive without having to do anything drastic.
The One Hour Adventures
Shoot us an email, send us a DM or hit our contact button to share your ideas for a chance for them to be featured in an upcoming program!
This first program is to encourage you to begin adding these immersive experiences back into your life in small ways. What better way to do that, than to create a mini bucket list! Nothing crazy, no big dreams. Just the things that you’ve been adding to your to do later list that you haven’t gotten around to- Trying that new restaurant, taking that new class, calling your old friend.
Here’s how you’ll do it
This one is simple! Any chance you can, take an hour out of your day and do something different. It could be intentionally taking lefts all the way home from work or exploring a neighborhood near you
We’ve included a digital tracker for you to log your hours in a fun way. Print it and put it on your fridge, make it your phone background or find a piece of paper and make your own
